Default possible HP upgrades for S4

Sorry for the newbie questions, but I'm considering getting an S4. Since it already has biturbo at 250 HP, are there upgrades that can be done to get more power beyond the usuals like exhaust?

Also, what is the widest size wheels that can fit on the rear? Is it good idea to have the same width front and rear?

Thanks!

Default GIAC chip, K04 turbos, downpipes, exhaust, depends on how much $$$ you

are willing to invest.

Default wider rear tires not good idea

The car has no problems with traction in straight line acceleration, so wide rear tires are of no value there. Plus, the car already understeers and putting wider tires on the rear will make that worse.

There are plenty of performance upgrades, the most bang for the buck is a simple chip which bumps you to 307HP. After that the price rises rapidly.

Default In addition

Different sized tires on an AWD vehicle (OD is different) this taxes the drive train too much. Also when the wheels are driving the car, the drive train will impart forces on the car that will try to stretch or compress. In either case, not a good thing. Something will break and it will be expensive, i.e. wheel bearing, suspension parts, etc.

Knew a guy that had different sized tires on a K10 pickup who only used 4wd a couple of times and did major wheel bearing and u-joint or CV joint damage.

Default The others have good points about the wheels. Goto the S4 forum and ask SilverBulletS4

about his set up....he has 255s I think in the rear and 235 up front.....don't quote me on that though.
