Problem with cam bearing
I've pulled apart today an engine that run out of oil.
Despite some warped valves, de 1st bearing of the exaust cam is ruined, the cam is also ruined in the same place.
As this car owner plans are for inproved valves (stainless or Ti) and cams, I dont't care about them, but Would it be worth the effort of welding the cam bearing and boring it to it's stock diameter? or should he buy another head and call his actual as JUNK!?
I'll be able to post pictures only on monday, when I get may camera back.

Re: Problem with cam bearing
I would rather not weld on a cam bearing surface...You should be able to find a good used head and not have long term problems that may occur from trying to weld in aluminium filler, then line-bore to match a specific cam.
For a non-turbo, stainless valves are plenty. For turbo cars, stainless intake valves and Inconel exhaust valves would be very good to have.
