There was a buildup of oil at the front of the manifold where the throttle body attaches (the manifold tilts slightly to the front of the car, so this is where it collects). Probably about a tablespoon or so. I expected a little residue since the crankcase breather system will usually let a little oil in.

Anyone here taken off their manifold (or their throttle body) and noticed a similar thing? One good sign, the crankcase breather tube inside the manifold extends a few inches into the manifold past the temp sensor. Audi probably figured on some oil and this tube is here to keep it off the sensor (I think).

SlvrBulletS4 (sorry, new here - don't know your name), what did you do to your manifold (I saw two pictures of it)? Did you custom fabricate a new one or modify your existing one? Mine looks somewhat similar to yours, except the top is completely different.

Next job this week - removing the cylinder heads.

Oil seeps past the seals in a turbo and can get into the intake system.

A little oil is to be expcected. If the oil was always full when checked, then you're fine.
