Default Q: Vibration while braking (not warped rotors, x-post)

Hello. I have been trying to diagnose a vibration while braking. It's not pad deposits or out-of-true rotor. It's worse as the brakes get more bedded in and/or warm.

Seems to be coming from the front right (as it gets better right after I replace that rotor, then slowely gets worse).

I don't have any noticable whirring noises (other than normal s4 tire noise w/wear), and a tiny vibration when not braking (which could be the snow tires or wheel balance).

It has become more pronounced since non-floating calipers were installed, but did do it with the original rotors/brakes, especially after time and warming up.

I'm thinking a bent hub or bad wheel bearing. Car has 60k miles on it. 1 Year ago I smacked a wicked pot-hole that bent the wheel (now the spare) and flatted.

Thoughts? Comments?

Default Tire belt slippage? Bad bearing will just start to make noise...

I would still look at the rotor. I have had many that looked great, that would vibrate with increasing force when driven hard (superheated!).

Swap tire. Switch rotor.

Default "Swap tire, Switch rotor." I agree. Bent wheel is my guess...

and maybe the hub is out-of-true where the rotor and wheel mount. You could remove them and check lateral runout with a dial indicator if you have this kind of equipment. A good shop should be able to do this. Compare readings with left front which you said doesn't vibrate.

My $.02

Default

Hub could be tweaked. Usually then they just kill bearings or fall off.
