Why not? Did Audi switch to low impedance?

Default Still high impediance

but the injector nozzle area is longer. Based on what APR told me the older injectors could work but needs some sort of spacer/adaptor.

dbw injectors:

You could swap in an older manifold and/or fuel rail.

Default Would not make a difference...

...I looked at an intake manifold for an '01 today and it looks just like mine. I can't see how the longer nozzle does anything but put the spray closer to the valves.

For all intents and purposes, the Fords will work just fine.

Default They look the same from the outside but the mount for the injectors are different

That's something you can't see from the outside. From what I was told, the size/shape is completely different. When you put them into the newer cars with spacers, the injector tip is not where they are designed to be. This would result in "pooling" of fuel because the spray pattern might catch something. That's bad for the engine. I'm sure if the older injectors can be used without any negative effects APR would do it since there are many more choices in flow rates.
