question about boost controls on an S4????
I am upgrading my stock coolers, piping to the turbo's and adding a custom exhaust. my question is what is better, electronic or manual boost controls, and what can the stock turbo's on an S4 be turned up to for normal steet driving.

i wouldn't put a boost controller on
the ECU controls the boost, just get a good chip. I run up to 1.4, with 1.58 spikes in my S4. I think the ECU would react screwwy to a boost controller

both a boost controller and a blow off valve...
is not recommended! just get a chip and everything is handled. the boost controller will mess up the ECU of the car and bad things could happen....as far as the blowoff valve, audi uses a bypass valve where the extra pressure is blown back in to the manifod...everything is computer related, so if you put a blow off valve on, the it again messes up the readings going to the ECU....although I have heard of people reworking a blow off valve and turning it into a recirc. valve....that may work....i used to have an Eclipse GSX, and i thought that i could put the boost controllers and blow off valves, and VPC and all that other good stuff too......but these european cars are different and are so well tuned that you should leave it up to the pros like APR, AMS, MTM ...etc....

What I was doing was MORE POWER!!!
I was looking for more power from simple know hows...larger pipes, bigger intercoolers, custom air intake, and a custom exhaust. I was going to add a custom chip when I was done. I didn't want to spend $7000 to do a full turbo upgrade, a little too expensive for me!! Besides, the old Hot Rodding tricks I thought would work.....any other upgrades I should know about???
