i want to hook up a trans temp gauge (its a long story, nevermind why). problem is, i have no idea how to go about it and ive never, in my 4+ years here, heard anyone else talk about it. anybody have a clue how to hook one up/make one work for a 99.5 1.8 tiptronic?

the other question is about placement. i already have an a-pillar boost gauge, so i thought of mounting both on a custom panel below the hvac controls, in place of the ashtray. anybody done this/have any tips/pics?

Figure out what wires, and what type of signal it generates and you could tap into it. Otherwise, you'd have to get an oil temp sensor and tap into one of the lines exterior of the trans.
