"The next project following the Golf RSI is now underway...
This time the basis will be an Audi A4 with 4-wheel drive, tube chassie, carbon fibre body and a 3.3 litre biturbo V8 midengine. More info shortly!"

Jamez, I think it takes a lot more than hi boost and hi octane. If you want it to live awhile anyway
It takes a BULLETPROOF block, solid lifters 8800rpm limit a really big turbo BP103 and a lot of engineering to get 5.5-5.8 hp per CI. You can get it for 2 or 3 minutes without the above, but it would be a bad blowup when the block split between the cylinders or a rod came out thew sides because the bottom end went liquid. There are a few of these engines around tho, so it can be done. It is as someone mentioned very expensive. A turbo that can flow boost for 150 hp a hole WILL NOT be friendly on the bottom and end, and will come on so hard you wont enjoy it much then either. I am close (know how close soon) and the car is kind of frightening on the street, and I am not someone easily scared. It is not at all practical maybe even on the track. Having built an engine with much more (and I havent even run it on race gas yet), I have to say that 400 crank would be almost perfect for the street.

well...
they have blown so much ecuippment on this car you wouldnt believe it.
Still, of course they have used uprated parts all the way...
Its not really impressive with that kind of power on 3.2bar boost.
It should be fully possible to make that much on much less boost, thats my point...
I believe I can say pretty certain that my engine is running more than 400crank now, and thats on street with 93octane... I am impressed with how much power I got on mine with 'modest' boost levels. Still below 20psi...
I dont believe my engine would take 3.2bar/47psi, but if it would, it would be alot more than 584hp !

I would suggest reading up on engine math, and the stresses @ 150hp a hole, but opinions vary . haha
It takes a whopper block to sustain this. And BTW, my car is making near 500 crank on pump 91 and I am running max 30.5lbs boost. There is a reason that 600+ hp 1.8t engines can be counted on a few fingers, and many engines were blown to get that.
