Question on HKS Boost controller (EVC IV) for A4?
I have the stock turbo with a Greddy BOV and then the EVC.
The Problem: I'm having boost spikes at what seems like a low boost setting on the controller.
Can't go above .65.
The ECU has a Wett chip which supposedly has a peak boost of 1 bar.
What could be causing the spikes? and how high should I be able to set the controller?
Thanks for any help.

Did you do the learning steps on the evc. If the evc is set for too much boost
the turbo will run out of power up top since it is over spinning too soon. Your better off running without the evc.

doesn't teh EVC solenoid replaces the stock boost frequecy valve?
Then it doesn't matter what chip you're running, it's not controlling the boost anymore. Dial the EVC up, both low and high boost. You should be able to set the response too to avoid spike.

If you dont do the setup right the reading for the EVC will be wrong.
Yes the evc replaces the stock valve but I bet he did not loop the vac line from one side to the other on the stock valve. This will make the ecu think there is a leak and put the car in limp mode.
