Default Quick update on my car...

Many of you know and email me. I been around here for a while but have been pretty busy lately with not as much time to follow whats going on here. Im happy to see that more and more Audi guys are throwing on big turbo's and getting their hands dirty :-)

I guess I'm known for my 400whp dyno done with GT35r. Dang I miss that turbo also, gonna throw it back on the car soon ;-).

Basically my fuel system has been really maxed out and I was on stock fuel system with 550cc injectors and in tank high pressure walboro fuel pump.

Now I got ATP high flow fuel rail which I modified for my custom project. I got dual feed lines in each end of rail and I drilled out the hole where fuel gauge can go on the rail and made it bigger and made it my return port. Close call but the return port can keep up. I also threw another fuel pump in the car now too. As you see the big aeromotive regulator witht the gauge right on it. Makes life just so simple and so easily adjustable on the dyno.

I got the car apart again so I can clean it all up and get radiator tube that runs parralel to valve cover polished(damn im such a pretty boy).

Right now I got a bum tranny in the car that I bought used a while ago(not in mood to talk about). It still works but very hard to get in gear. I'll be getting another tranny out here very soon for race season so I can finally give myself peace of mind, not to mention have fun. Its frustrating cause the car is just so damn wicked fast.

Right now I got GT3071(GT30r) strapped up. Had it on for a while. Great turbo with great spoolup and trq.

With all new fuel stuff I threw it on the dyno and clutch just wouldnt hold. I kept trying praying but with the trq. the car is making it was a lost cause. The blue run was before fueling where I left off. The red and green runs are runs clutch just wouldnt hold at all, sending my rpms flying to redline. New clutch going in anyways as last time I just threw a disk on keeping the old pressure plate and fywheel(may of been a mistake).

I'm excited as the car is boosting even faster now and hitting damn hard. This is the most trq. I have ever made and the boost gauge was just showing a measily 16-17psi. The blue run is on pump gas 18psi, hard to see but it 338whp 290 trq. You can see in the green and red how much more power there is and I am all giddy now. I'll be giving another update shortly with some more info and new pictures once I finish cleaning up the car.

Audi on!

I can def. feel the difference but right when boost swings and it hits full boost the clutch just wont hold.

Default Wow .. looks very nice!

Looks like some wicked top end there! Can't wait to see your next 1/4 slip once you sort out your tranny issues.

I got the fuel pump kit you sent Lucas .. it looks like a top quality piece! I'll hopefully have something to post about my setup within a month.

Default Man, I can't wait to dyno my car! Looks good Smokin!

I just worked on an A4 the other day, with a T3/T4 setup. Hooked up an afc for him. I agree, it's good to see more people doing it.

How do you like that fuel rail? I've been contemplating it, wondering what's the limits of the stock rail setup with an adjustable fpr? I'll be installing the 255lph fuel pump soon.

Default Re: Hey thanks a lot...

Well I made 400whp with 4 bar fpr and 550cc and the walboro but my a/f was going lean where it can be dangerous esp. the power it was making. The classic sign of fuel not keeping up is the a/f slanting upwards normally in upper rpm's. A good example is that 400whp dyno. I'd say right around 350whp is where the lines need to be replaced. Maybe 325whp for the more conservative. The proper way is to T a fuel pressure gauge which ya already know :-) so you can see if pressure is dropping. The ATP fuel pump kit uses the high pressure version of the walboro. Make sure you get that one(prolly $10-20 more)if you dont get their kit.

Im digging the fuel rail and new stuff. I used aeroquip fittings with pushlock style hose which is aeroquip rated to a really high pressure. Easy, cheaper, and simple stuff to use. If you get the rail you will have to do your own plumbing of lines.

Peace out! Lets have a fun year!

Default What size is the OEM fuel lines, & what did you upgrade to?

Also, if it's not too much to ask, could you define "custom ATP software"? Did you take the car to them & they tuned a chip for you?
