race pipes on a stg 3?

You will get a CE light with a testpipe yes
and basically the code states that your Cat isn't doing its job of cleaning the air .. well duh ..
There are MIL defeaters out there that send a false signal to your ECU, I'm looking into those and from what I've heard they aren't too expensive.

Most of the nDBW Stage III's will NOT toss a DTC for cat underefficiency as long as both O2 sensors
are installed (and healthy). This from folks I know who run one. Some APR Stg III DBWs don't toss that code and some do.
Given the GT25 outlet flange you'll likely want to use APR's test pipe. It is a VERY nice design.
If you want to take a physical look at one (I am installing mine along with the tranny swap) scoot on up to B'ham.

Does that mean they removed the code or changed the threshold?
I know the 2nd 02 sensor codes can be turned off, I had that done on my old K03 street chip while I had a race pipe. I am pretty sure I had that turned off with the T28 chip also.

No it isn't 'turned off'. From what I've been able to gather it is the rate of temperature rise (and
a temperature threshold too I believe) and the nDBWs seem to satisfy the ECU where many DBWs don't. I don't know if the thresholds are altered in the DBW's emissions 'controls' or if the nDBWs just heat up a bit quicker. Many of the DBWs only toss the code ocassionaly.
I wonder if the Iconel manifold might alter the equation a bit ... keeping the exhaust gases hotter especially on start up.
