Default rebuilding a 3B engine from '91 200 20v

i have a 3B with 297K miles. i talked with Ned of IA and am looking at 400-430 hp. Will the stock piston rods hold up with that much power? Should i upgrade them anyways? Are there any other weak areas of the car? hope this is not too general. Thanks for your help.

Default the distributer misfires at high rpms

and in a high power application(350+), a misfire would bend the rods.

thats why 3B holds less power than a AAN
and so i've heard..........

You need better rods and the metal distributor gear.

Pauter or Carillo for rods, see if there are any remaining gears from the group buy...
