Redesigned Random Technology A4 1.8 cat?

I just received the Random Technology cat I ordered last week (Lightning Motorsports appears to be -- ahem -- lightning fast) and to my surprise, it looks _nothing_ like what I expected.
Gone is the pressed-steel brick design, replaced with the trendy snake-swallowed-a-rat design. FWIW, the inlet diameter measures approx. 2-1/8", the outlet diameter approx. 2-3/8", and the weld quality is quite a bit better than on the last RT cat I saw. Given the amount of room around the holes in the flanges, I hope it installs more easily than the previous design did, as I recall the one I did for a friend a few years ago was a major PITA.
Unfortunately, I have no way to determine if this version flows any better than the previous one (or the OEM one, for that matter) as my car has never been dyno'd and the OEM cat is very much dead and plugged.
Anyway, this may well be old news for those in the know, but I thought I'd post a heads-up on this for the rest of us.

Kit owners have shown this version to flow better and last longer.

FWIW.......
We were in contact with RT a while back, and had negotiated manufacturing possibilities of making cats & test pipes with a 2.75"/2.5" inlets/outlets. They are available to be made, but haven't been yet. If someone were to want one, it'd be a "guinea pig" situation.
