Default RS2 Tranny Questions,... (Lucas_GChips???)

Hey! I was wondering if you would be kind enough to give me the LONG, intricate version of the RS tranny install,... ie.

1) Where you got the tranny? Used? They're rare pieces and if I buy a used one,... I would be afraid of the condition,...

2) Which year of an RS2/S2 did you take it off of?

3) Which rear diffs did you end up getting?

4) How did you need to modify the tranny to make it fit,... and how cumbersome was the task? How is the overall fit???

5) Did you ever just think of getting a set of custom gears done for the car??? I'm sure it'd cost about the same as what you're doing,...

THANKS! =)

Wait about a month, hopefully there'll be a successful S4 trans swap running around by then....

New fron Juan @ Werks Of Art.

Stock diff at this stage saving money later for Quaife.

Juans Geabox is 100% Bolt on, no stuffing around.

Looked at gears, still coast a lot by the time its done.

Default Tell me all about it!!! =)

Now I'm interested again,... is it a straight bold on as Lucas said??? I'm hesitent and skeptical,... what are you thoughts and the pricing of it? What do you think or KNOW? Is that in your future plans as well??? I was just curious to know if it was made from a NEW tranny or not,... and what about the diffs??? Keeping it stock, RS2/S2 rear diffs? or Quaife?.... questions, questions,... Thanks! =)

Default I wouldn't exactly call it a bolt in

Don't forget a 4.11 rear diff, an S4 driveshaft, 100 mm CV flanges, (or all four S4 axle assemblies) and the different 6 speed shifter components.

And there may be more, I'll know shortly.

Has Juan actually done the swap?

Default It is a 100% bolt on.

It is basicly a new housing that is made to hold the RS2 parts.
