S4 swap to my A4 1.8 T Quattro 95'
I found a good bargain:
-engine 2.7 bi turbo (s4)- two chargers, intercoolers, and all that needed stuff
-gear box
- ECU with wires
Just for 2300$- all legal with papers and 40000 km mileage...
Maybe its a good deal?
What problems will I meet if I decide to swap?
As far as I know generally the worst is electronics- but what exatcly?
any other problems?
Any differences with Quattro systemsor Quattro ECU's?
Thanx for answers...

You'll need drivesafts, that'll run you another $1k-1500....
and the rear dif, unless you're etting that, too. Ask for all the axles & rear dif, too. Worth a little more $ on your part. 6 speed alone is worth $2300 if it's good. Will "probably" bolt right up.....(insert discaimer here :-)
Why not a 4.2L euro S6 motor? There's one around....

What injectotrs are you running now with your
T3/T4? I found an old post of yours where you were selling a set of Ford 42 lbs (440cc) injectors. I am trying to find a used set or a cheap set for my 2 liter and K04 setup. Do you know what color the 42 lbs injectors are.

Re: Any more specific problems- please give me details!!! I need to hury.
Why rear diff- isnt it the same?
And what about an electronics?
Only the ECU differs?
probably the Quattro management is different too...
What about a gearbox linkage?

ATP uses 475cc injectors, I need 440's/42lbs for my K04 setup.
Sure dont want to over pay for injectors I dont need. Ford 42 lb injectors will cost $420 retail for a set of 8 which puts them around $52.50 each and will give me a back up set. If you look on ATP's web site they are selling 475cc injectors for $400 for a set of 4 which means they are $100 each and twice as much as the ford injectors.

I've got some 440cc injectors laying around....
I bought a set of 8 for $300 that only had dyno time on them, and I only need 4.
How does $160 (including shipping) sound for a set of 4? Shoot me an email if you're interested.

Some work will need to be done......
The 1.8T A4 has smaller axle flanges, so you'll need to have smaller flanges put on the 6-speed tranny, the trans mount is also different on one side, so you'll have to custom make that. You'll also need the shifter linkages, driveshaft, rear differential assembly and axles.
The ECU may not interface properly with the instrument cluster either, so you might need the S4 instrument cluster and some wiring work.
The S4 is DBW, so you'll need to put in a DBW gas pedal assembly.
The S4 has a bigger radiator, and an extra electric fan, so cooling may be a concern as well.
$2300 is super cheap, normal pricing is around $4000 for all the motor stuff (no trans)
