S4 wants to go on a Diet.
do any of you gentlemen(or ladies), have any personal experience with taking substantial amounts of weight out of your S4; without resorting to removing seats, etc.?

Change rims.
The stockers are around 29 pounds each. You can get 17" rims (like the SSR Competition) that are 12 pounds lighter.

AP Racing brakes (-28 lbs.); Borla exhaust (-32 lbs.); no spare tire (-50 lbs.)
SSR Competition wheels (-40/50 lbs.); carbon fiber vented hood (-30 lbs.); order w/o sunroof (-20 lbs.); battery (?? lbs.). Between these, you should come in at over 200 lbs. lighter than a stock S4.

Great tips.
Thanks all!
I have a GSR sedan (all motor) that I autox and drag race a little. I don't plan on taking much out of my daily driver Audi, but I def think the lighter wheels will make a nice difference. Also, removing weight up front, or shifting it to the rear can help (such as battery relocation/carbon fiber hood). Besides free stuff, like removing the spare/seats, removing weight or replacing components with lighter counterparts is often tough on the wallet, hehe.
My GSR has or will have 11 LBS 15 inch wheels (Rotas), no spare, no AC, no PS assembly, no Cruise control, lightweight racing seat, etc. I'm shooting for approx 2600 lbs with me (160 lbs) in it. This is why it's reasonably quick and "feels" torquey with "only" 200 HP at the wheels.

consider APR's aluminum flywheel as well
I had a 10.5lb single mass flywheel on my M3 (stock was like close to 30lbs). Also, like wheels, this is rotational weight as opposed to unsprung weight. Rev's will build quicker and you'll notice an improvement in acceleration. Hopefully, APR's flywheel will have some dampning properties because the transmission chatter at idle with the compressor on was LOUD and very annoying as time went on.

Definitly try and move the battery for better balance, coilovers,
Recaros racing shells (weigh 15lbs) can shave off a 100lbs.. 300 lbs can be done somewhat easily (but will cost some money).. If you do upgrade seats you will be able to sell the ones you got very easily to someone with an A4.. and you can get them to match your interior..
