S4 Wheel liner for Passat? or can I do the modification to it?

Just keep in mind that with all of that extra hit air entering your wheel well . . .
your brakes are now going to run even hotter!
This is a conclusion I came up with an A4 owner. Just another factor in the front brakes being so weak on Audis.
Thought you might want to know about it.
I am going to fabricate brake ductwork for my TTQ come the spring. I might even have to replace the belly pan to get the ductwork to work properly.

I run Level 3 brakes. I no longer have brake issues..
2.5 hours of laps in one day on a road race course. One session was 40 minutes straight.. 125mph down full hard on the brakes. Laps where run at 1 min 20 sec with heavy braking everywhere with NO fade at all. In fact the brakes where better when hot thanks to my Pagid orange pads.
By the way the Pagids are very durable. I toasted a set of stock rear pads that day.. The Front pagids look great. You do get some noise when cold but I can live with it..
With stock pads the ducts would be usefull. With the Pagid orange pads it might be a hinderance everywhere except the track. There is a noticable diff in hot and cold braking power.

Personally, I like the angled slots on the S4 liner
Keeps crap from flying past the wheel liner that may be thrown up by the tires.
Cutting narrow slots may help prevent this, but the angled slots would likely do a better job.
For an A4-owner, the S4 liner is cheap and can replace the stock liner without mods (it looks pretty good - but would look better if you take the time to modify it). No idea how hard it would be to modify an S4 liner to fit the Passat. If it isn't too tough, I would go that route.

Buy the left S4 liner (around $36.-) then cut out the louvres with 1" lip. Next, take the Passat
liner out and cut hole same size as the actual louvered area. Then just screw the S4 louver into the Passat liner. Should not take more than 2 hrs. It works great, and there is no water or debree entry into the engine bay.

But guys the extra hot air will help warm up the left tire faster and thats worth the trade off...
for the super heated left brake rotor any day. I really don't think the airflow coming through S4 fender liner is going to have any impact as far as overheating the brakes. If you believe that is the case you should be sure to drive around with the heater on all the time as it helps cool the coolant and will therefore dramatically lower engine temps and therefore allow for more timing and higher boost level and make more horsepower... yeah.... And more timing and faster tire warm up on the left front will mean more grip at trun #1, a right hander, allowing for greater corner exit speed therefore faster lap times and 1st place finishes!
