Samco Silicone Hose Kit Fitted Yesterday

Well; Louie and the boys at Euroclass fitted the Samco hose kit yesterday - along with a new timing belt (I actually had them change all the belts on the car for brand new ones - it was the time to do it when the car is in pieces!) .
I also fitted a new GFB Bypass Valve as my Forge valve was intermittently not holding full boost. (But thats another story and another post).
The Samco hoses are much stiffer than the stock rubber ones and are designed to be much more heat resistant and oil resistant. All of the hoses fitted up without a hitch execpt for the bypass valve return hose (which is hose number 2 in the pic.) For some reason the Samco hose is completley the wrong length, shape and size on one end. So I am going to have to contact Samco and ask for a replacement for that hose (Its not a critical hose anyway as its only venting air back to the airbox for the MAF).
I dont think you are ever going to notice any major performance gains from changing hoses (thats not why I did it). Some of the Samco hoses are more direct straigter runs than the stock hoses though - so I suppose in theory there may be slightly less pressure drop due to better airflow. But I doubt this translates into a tangable power gain.
The main reason for changing hoses is the Samco silicone hoses are able to operate under much much higher pressure and heat than the stock rubber hoses. They dont flex like the stock hoses under boost and they provide far greater long-term reliability. Plus they look great! I'm very happy with them and they look fantastic on the car. A big thank-you to Louie and the boys at Euroclass for all their efforts and excellent work yesterday. With the new belts, BPV and hoses the car is running better than ever before
