Split Scenond 1-Bar Boost Controller Review (Coming Soon...)
I will be ordering next week SPlit Seconds' 1.8T Boost Controller for my Y2k Passat 1.8T. I've been waiting for APR's Switch chip for Y2k but it's not happening for Drive-by-wire. This product is EXACTLY what I was looking for: Tunable boost, LED Boost Level Meter, fully adjutable. I will be installing it under my radio along with the Greddy Turbo Timer which is under my steering column. A nice faceplate will be made. I will document everything from order, to pictures to track tested results. Just thought you'd like to know.
THis works with all DBW VW/Audi 1.8T's

EMCS is for DBW / y2k too, and IS the "switch chip". It's been out for awhile now.
The thing you are talking about does not alter the fuel maps to accommodate the increase in the air charge. You risk leaning out your charge, and inducing detonation and pinging. A chip does exactly what you want, and does it safely.
I think you are a little confused. The Switch Chip is for NON-DBW cars that do not have the cruisecontrol interfaced into the ECU. DBW cars do, and allow you to switch between 4 programs via the cruise control stalk. This is for Passats too.
