Stage III need clutch suggestions/updates
I already did a search and read through what has been posted, but I was looking for updates. APR isn't currently selling there setup. Any updates with the AWE kit. How about the Sachs sport clutch. I dislike centerforce and refuse to buy any clutches from them. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Stage III need clutch suggestions/updates
I had pretty good luck with the clutchmasters stage III setup. Althouh my stage III is on a Passat so I don't have the traction you do. Power take up was smooth though and the disk wore very well.

that is actually a very decent setup..
the only thing is it's a bit of a down grade from your oem.
TT FWD clutch rates at 2000psi Quattro is the same also @ 2000psi.
The VR6 is 1800 for a sachs sport and 1500 for a regular OEM replacement.
that clutch you have is still stronger than stock but its not much of an upgrade from stock because your gains was only i estimate 15% and that will last about 30K miles only. as much as possible don't do hard launches on that setup for 2000 miles that billet flywheel autotech sells is thin and warps real easy. when you drive it slow it kinda gives it a heat treatment and makes the metal harder to prevent form warping.
give us an update on how things go i am curious to see how a VR6 clutch will work on the TT since i have several VR6 clutch kits out now.
for those interested his upgrade kit is decently priced. 296 for the flywheel, 140 for hte VR6 pressure plate, and disk for 150-160 bearing 40 bucks. so the total kit will be 640 total not bad for a complete upgrade. not sure what Velocity sold that upgrade for but they used to sell the same thing it is actually a G60 clutch kit which is the same.
