Technical / Difficult Question (Putting hydrogen into the air intake read for details)
Hey guys, I was reading an article about a product that uses electrolysis from the battery/alternator then puts hydrogen gas into the air intake of a normal combustion engine. The intended benefit of this is improved fuel efficency (10-40%) and reduced emissions (instead of the standard 35% fuel burn it gives a 97% fuel burn). I also think the reduced emissions would give you the ability to take the cat off and still pass emissions so it would give a HP boost.

My question is if there is any proof that this idea would work or does anyone have experience with this idea? Also does anyone know the science behind this? Please submit any input. Thanks.

How about you put a vacuum line from the intake manifold to the battery vent......
and see what happens?
I'm sure if it were that simple, designers have toyed with it already. Especially with these newer hybrids, that run multiple batteries, and a small gas engine. ;-)
....not that I've worked on them, hell, they may be doing that....

seems stupid to me.
hydrogen is a fuel in this case, and needs oxygen to burn.
cars are oxygen limited, not fuel limited. shoving more fuel(hydrogen) into an engine without increasing the oxygen would mean more unburnt gas...i.e. worse emissions.
the whole thing doenst make sense.
