Default Thanks for the chip Lucas ..

I picked up a GIAC chip for my car from Lucas this weekend .. the cars pulls much harder now.

He took me for a ride in his car and damn near snapped my neck off. His car really hauls ***! It kinda makes my chipped car feel insignificant compared to his.

Anyway .. thanks again for the chip Lucas!

Default GT25 Hybrid capable of ~425 to 440 Hp if fully unleashed...

Of course he's replaced the engine internals to withstand that much power. He's got tons of other mods still

Default We are going crazy with this motor. We plan to run 10's in the street tire class.

All this on a daily driver.=)

Default Let me know how the 2-liter conv. works out for you...

When I looked into it, it just to cost too much to get the crank welded and then offset ground. The cylinder walls get alarmingly thin when bored out to the point where they might not last very long under high pressure and temperature (especially if you're going to be running nitrous + large turbo & high boost). And then there are the trickle down effects...such as making non-standard connecting rods (long lead time item) and maybe even non-std. Pistons (again long lead time item), etc...

If you scale power with the change in displacement (0.2/1.8 = 11%) you'll see the power gain is marginal. For example for a 400Hp engine you might at best get 400 x 1.11 or 444Hp that's if you can really get a 0.2 liter increase in the displacement. You will get an additional ~44Hp for a lot of added cost and perhaps have reduced reliability.

There are other issues that are big unknowns such as the combustion dynamics... say if you stroke the engine to get it up to 2-liters, the piston velocity increases enough where the piston might be to fast in relation to the flame front in the combustion chamber. Meaning the piston might run away from the flame front in the power stroke where the end result will be little to maybe at worse no power gain at all... so tuning this setup might be more difficult altogether.

Just thinking out loud... Do you still want to do this? ;-p

Default None of that needs to be done.....

The way I'm doing it, I'm using all factory components. And it should be cheap....very cheap

Default Factory components from a 2.0liter normally aspirated VW engine? like crank, rods, pistons...

does it physically fit in the 1.8T block? or are you going to use the 2 liter block and just bolt the 1.8T head to it?

Quick Reply: Thanks for the chip Lucas ..
