Are ther any affordable suspension ....
spring compressors that work on a b6 a4 rear spring that dont require disassembly of the rear suspension? the factory tool is about $2000.00 which i dont need to spend. zdmak.com lists some similar looking ones but dont list applications.

the good ones do anyways. That, & creative thinking, can get you around "special tools" in many situations. Dropping one side of the rear subframe at a time will enable you to remove & install the springs. If you're not up for that, bring it to me or any other competent tech around you. Paying us to do that will be cheaper than that $2000 tool as well, and you'll know it's done right. ;-)

Their compressor fits, and runs about $400 I believe.
Certainly more affordable than the Klann tool used by VW/Audi.
As Matt said, for the rear you *can* lower the subframe slightly and pull the spring out. No compressor needed this way, only an alignment.

Don't need an alignment because of lowering one side at a time.....
if you do it right, you won't move the subframe from it's fixed position.
You will technically need an alignment if you're changing ride height. You should have an alignment done anytime you change suspension components, actually.

thanks....
i am a tech and did the rear spring install with the generic compressor infiniti uses. it was still a pita. now i have to swap them out again so i can turn the car back in and then install them in my '05 b6 in the spring. the only easy part was doing the alignment. the factory 17" 5 spokes made adjustments easy through the spokes.
