Thoughts on these gauges as necessary in a turbocharged car...
I'd like your thoughts on the importance of all of these gauges. I may be getting another turbo car soon and am going to go gauge crazy, picking around 4-5. Assume the car has no factory gauges except for fuel level. Which 5 would you pick, from the most important to the least? These are in no particular order:
1)Boost
2)Exhaust gas temp
3)Oil temp
4)Water/coolant temp
5)Air temp before/after turbo
6)Oil pressure
7)Fuel Pressure
8)Voltage
Did I miss any?
Thanks,
1)Boost
2)Exhaust gas temp
3)Oil temp
4)Water/coolant temp
5)Air temp before/after turbo
6)Oil pressure
7)Fuel Pressure
8)Voltage
Did I miss any?
Thanks,

No factory gauges besides fuel level?
1) RPM
2) Boost
3) Oil Temp
4) Oil Pressure
5) Water Temp
6) Exhaust Gas Temp
7) Air / Fuel Ratio
8) Fuel Pressure
9) Shift Light
10) Voltage
11) Transmission Oil temp
12) Rear differential oil temp
13) Clock
14) Oh yeah, Speedo
2) Boost
3) Oil Temp
4) Oil Pressure
5) Water Temp
6) Exhaust Gas Temp
7) Air / Fuel Ratio
8) Fuel Pressure
9) Shift Light
10) Voltage
11) Transmission Oil temp
12) Rear differential oil temp
13) Clock
14) Oh yeah, Speedo

Assuming you're talking about the wrx then
You also will have RPM, speedo, coolant temp. To this I would add the following five:
boost, air temp before intercooler (after turbo)
air temp after intercooler, oil temp, oil pressure.
boost, air temp before intercooler (after turbo)
air temp after intercooler, oil temp, oil pressure.

Boost, EGT, Oil Temp., Oil Press., Air/Fuel gauge.
This complement of gauges would be best for future tuning/upgrades of the engine/turbo.
If you're installing more than 3 gauges, my bet is you won't be keeping things "stock" .
