Today, I drive - feel the car get in boost then all of a sudden boost dies out. My car feels like its lagging very badly. Pretty much like what Limp mode would feel like I would think. No boost at all. A couple minutes later, boost comes back! Car drives normal. On my way home from work, car does the same thing again! Boost starts.. then poof! no boost... just slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. real slow! I get home, boost not back! Vacuum hose related? I'll be calling the dealership tomorrow morning. But does anybody know what could be causing it?

Default To find a vacuum leak...

...get a propane torch. Don't light it but with the car running and the propane flowing direct the propane to the joints of all of the hoses and along the intake tract itself. When the idle jumps, you have found your leak.

Obviously, do this outside where you have good ventilation.

Default I had a really weird problem maybe similar to that...

My car just had no power. I could hear a noticable decrease in "turbo noise". I traced the problem to ****ty gas. Once I ran another tankful through and all the bad gas was gone, the car returned to normal. However, I'm not sure about your problem. I'd take it to the dearler and have him check for fault codes. If nothting comes up, take a drive with a tech in the car and see what he thinks?

Default even stock can have faulty or blown BPV, or perhaps bad wastegate solenoid

the symptom could be a million differnt things, but due to the intermittance of the problem, I would inspect EVERY vac hose...worst case replace ALL vac and boost hoses from the intake to the throttle body. A small pinhole leak can create these issues. The gas thing isnt a bad idea...the ECU may be altering the requested boost when it detects misfiring...but you should get a DTC. Judging by your pic poser...you poser....it looks like you have a 98 or 99. things could be wearin' out.
