transaxle & final drive fluid change / friction modifier question
It was suggested to me to post this question over here so instead of reposting, here's the link on the A4 forum. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. TIA<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1382220.phtml">changing fluid in transaxle and final drive</a></li></ul>

Basically GL4 in the tranny and wherever you have yellow metal.
GL5 for the rear diff.
It's not a friction modifier you need to be concerned with, it's the EP additive. In an engine you have extreme friction/heat. the friction modifier helps the shear strength of the oil. In a diff you also have very high pressure with the gears meshing against each other. The EP additive keeps the oil from squeezing out at the point of contact.
Do you have limited slip?<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/9080/msgs/45610.phtml">Xpost</a></li></ul>
