Turbo noise question. Please help
I have a 2002 A4 1.8t with 30 k miles. I have no mods except for 19" wheels and lowering springs. The other day I was accelerating from a stop sign and my turbo made a psssst sound. It sounded like air was being released like a blow-off valve or something. When I heard the noise I let up off the gas, then I accelerated again and the same psst was audible. I took it easy for the drive home, never accelerating too hard again. Any ideas on what the problem might be. Has anyone had this happen?

If you don't have grey/white smoke clouds from the exhaust then have it pressure tested
When you are not 100% certain where exactly its coming from then refer to an Audi Tech.
Remote troubleshooting is always "best guess", your Turbo could be on it's way out but if that happens then you'll surely see and feel it.
With no upgrades it could be as simple as a broken rubber hose or hose clamp, a pressure test will tell.
When driving (to the next Audi Tech), shift early, no high revs, try not to let the turbo work too hard.....and have your AAA card on hand....just in case.
Good Luck, and I really hope it's just a blown hose/boost leak.
