Default Turbo Question on the 1.8t engine

Has anyone put twin turbos on the 1.8 engine? is it possibel or is it just not efficent due to the engenering of the engine itself?

Default I myself have never seen it done......

I don't think the little guy can handle it really. Plus...have you seen the room you have to work with??? Kinda tight. I've seen single BIG turbos (bigger than stg3...talkin bout custom jobs) stuffed in there with good results.

And why would you do that on a 1.8t?

Default People have looked into it and found it just not worth it at all.

You would have to push each with just half the cylinders which is only .9 liter.

Default why not sequential, one small and one medium to big?

I don't know the pros/cons/realities of something like that but it seems like a nice way to make huge, useable power. Does each turbo still have to be pushed separately?
Just curious.

Big Turbo and NOS is better - less plumbing & cheaper.

Default packaging would be a nightmare....exhaust manifold design would be horrid

totally not worth it on a 4-cylinder

Maximum Boost: Designing, Testing, & Installing Turbocharger Systems by Corky Bell...

Its a good read and you'll find that and alot of other answers there.
