I have read that Audi is considering replacing the biturbo 2.7 liter 6-cylinder engine with a normally aspirated V8. The merits of this (or lack thereof) aside, my question is, will this engine fit older Audi S4's and/or A4's? Or is the engine-transmission set up going to be completely different? Just curious.

Turbos can be tuned, get better gas milage, and they are a lot lighter. Since the car already has too much weight up front, it would be pointless.

Audi has traditionally kept the same exchangability of model parts, but who knows.
