Update on V6 oil cooler on the 1.8T......
After almost 1000 miles, no problems what-so-ever. Oil temps rise as quick as the coolant temps, which is very good for better protecting the engine. I've had the opportunity to drive it hard for short times & distances, and the temp never gets over about 210. Easy mod, cheap, and well worth it in my eyes -- I'd do it again.
Parts needed:
1-V6 S4 oil cooler(heat exchanger)-comes with seal
1-V6 threaded shaft
You can reuse the nut that's on the 1.8T shaft. Cooler will cost somewhere in the mid $200's, and the threaded shaft is a mere $15-20. Might as well do it with an oil change, too.
Tools needed:
27mm socket.
Channel locks/pliers/pipe wrench/something to get the threaded shaft out & in.
Dremel/cutting tool--to cut off the nubs
duct tape--to cover the oil ports while cutting.
That's it, really. Pretty easy.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/performance/msgs/54249.phtml">previous post & pics</a></li></ul>

Is this what you have?
I had been looking at this:
Oil cooler, Stud, and Filter for $190 shipped.
I just got my Neuspeed fan switch and thermostat, which I'll probablt try to put in tomorrow and see what happens to the oil temps.<ul><li><a href="http://www.dieselgeek.com/oilcooler.htm">http://www.dieselgeek.com/oilcooler.htm</a></li></ul>

btw...did you know that the RS4 has the A4 sized oil/water heat exchanger plus a oil/air one?
i found that interesting...i thought it would have the s4 oil/water exchanger in addition to the oil/water one.

Didn't know that, and you're right about the quicker warm-up.....
I don't think an oil to air cooler is necessary unless you're demanding a lot of power in relation to the size of an engine(I.E. HP/displacement ratio). My 2.0L will be getting one, and I already know it'll be overkill.
