Some I dont even think are damaged...
They just replace engines in the shop under warranty for nothing half the time...
I think two of them were replaced due to excessive use of oil.

if you visit vwvortex.com I bet you can sell the ABA block in the classified section of Scirocco and Golf/Jetta I/II easily for 3-400$/ea
lots of people used these for conversion the JH engine in the VW for them.

Umm, no, they're worth absolutely nothing. You should give them to me....
The AEB head is probably the best 20v head because it has the larger ports. Depending on condition, you can probably get anywhere from $200 to $500 easily.
As for the ABA blocks, the early ones had oil squirters and forged cranks. The cranks can be used to convert an AEB 1.8T to a 2.0T
FWIW, I'm running an ABA block and AEB head. I consider it the "ultimate 2.0" since it has a very nice R/S ratio.
