Default UUC short shifters or Neuspeed for a 99 A4 1.8T

which brand of short shifters works better? Neuspeed reduces throw between gates by 30% while UUC is 25% but i'm still not sure.

Default I love my Neuspeed shifter....

And once I found out that it got rid of the push-down reverse, and the UUC did not, it was a done deal.

I think some people also had to do some sort of mod to their UUC shifters to reduce some slop, the Neuspeed is nice and tight, right out of the box.

The Nuespeed is also about an 1" shorter than the UUC (which is same as stock), this is nice, especially if you have an aftermarket shift **** that is slightly taller.

Neuspeed vs. Stock height

Strat carries the UUC, and I don't think the A4 version has bearings.

Default Will be out in a few weeks... and yes, it has bearings...

Wait for the new one... shorter throw without the chopped down look and feel of the neuspeed.

The new Strat SS also elinimates the pushdown reverse in the 99.5 and earlier A4s.

I will actually have a pre-production verison installed in my 99.5 1.8TQMS in a few hours...

Default Cool.....Estiimated price?

Where are the bearings in the unit located?

Sounds interesting, I wonder if the bearings will add any unwanted vibes?

Default Hrmm....I like my "chopped" Neuspeed....

makes a short shifter more of a short shifter to me...just my opinion.

Do you think it would be possible for Stratmosphere to sell a "chopped" version for people that are looking for a shorter height as well?

I saw them, looks nice. Any idea what the throw reduction is?
