Wastegate Dump anyone?
#2
I have a wastegate dump tube on my car, but that is because I have a ext wastegate.
Tell you what, you dont want to use this on a street driven car since it becomes very loud while the wastegate is open and there is no back pressure to keep it from back firing.

Open dump tube?
I've heard they're pretty loud. I'm putting an external wastegate on my car this weekend, and might try it out for a little while, but more than likely it will be plumbed back into the exhaust.

Re: So how are you going to configure the external setup...
You got like 3 main choices
1.just running it straight out of the wastegate(very loud)
2. Build a tube about a foot long off the wastegate will help quiet it down to a fun and loud level. Nothing like hearing the wastegate bust open when it hits the desired boost and take off like a rocketship.
3. Plumb it back into exhaust tract, you will barily hear it.
I say you do #2 and then you could just build it strategically and if you dont like it dumping in the atmosphere plumb it back in. My car is sooo loud right now I may plumb it back in, it helps to hear the engine just to make sure its not pinging. I say you start with #2.

That's probably what I'll do....
#1 isn't an option because I don't want exhaust soot everywhere.
I'll probably just run it down to the ground to start.
I'm curious if I should put a flex joint in there if I plumb it back into the DP.
