What are the differences between the K04 and T28?

Housing and wheel size is larger in the T28
The T28 is just a bit bigger then a K16. The K04 will hit boost lower in the rpms but will die out in the higher rpms since it is only good for about 4000 rpms of full boost over 1 bar. The T28 will kick in(20psi) around 3500-3700 rpms and will hold a set boost to redline. Power difference is K04 235-240 hp on pump gas vs T28 280-300 hp on pump gas.

Re: Housing and wheel size is larger in the T28
When comparing the K04 & 240 hp to the T28 & 300 hp, is that at comparable boost pressure from both turbos? What can the T28 make & hold on this 1.8t head if a guy were to ask it for 25-28psi? With all the supporting mods in place, of course.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes both K04 and T28 are running about the same boost levels.
I am not sure what boost level the stock head gasket can take. I dont know many people running more then 25 psi. If you plan on running that much boost you might want to lower your compression since at 28psi your just about raising your compression ratio to 3 times it stock ratio which is about 28.5:1 with that boost level give or take a little. I plan on running up to 30psi with a big turbo, but my bottom end and top end were built to run that type of boost with a set of 8:1 pistons, schrick cams and a ported head that was tested for max flow.
