What does white buildup on the back of exhaust valves signify?

Took off the manifold, they are now black, geuss it all depends on the fuel

Default I was running really rich last time I took off the manifold too.

I realized last time I had 94oct from PA in before I took off the manifold and this time I had 93oct from NY in. Somebody on vwvortex said it only takes about 10miles of a gas w/ different additives for the color to change.
