What ever happened to TripComp DEI?? Is it still in the works??

It gets worked on slowly...
Lorin is working on the program, needs another spin of hardware and something should be ready to show. At first the focus is just to do some very basic stuff, namely the V1 display since that's what most wanted in the first place.
I just finished moving from one place to another, I'm getting all set back up so that I can do some work on it. Not dead, but if you didn't know any better you'd sure think it was.
Not giving any dates, don't want to string anyone along...but if you want to know the truth...the project is not, "dead".

James R.

by the way...you mention the V1 integration as being the most requested feature.
i would think that an integrated boost guage would be. thats what i would be interested in.
regardless...good luck.

Yeah still alive, I just don't post here anymore I'm on the other forum now
A stereo shop hacked into the RS6 display? I assume you mean they did something mechanically like Mark Bradford did with his V1 remote display in the cluster? I've never seen a stereo shop that had the engineering prowess needed to design microcontroller based logic devices, reverse engineer the TC protocols as well as write the software to pull the whole thing off.
I have to think there's a commerical product for this or it's just some kinda mechanical hack.

It will do boost thru an add on module just like the one from the other guy
but the base module will always do V1. The problem with boost is finding an appropriate pressure transducer that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. This is what's keeping it from being a stock component of the system. Many people are interested in this who drive A4's with NA motors, A8's, A6's etc...they're more interested in V1 support than they are engine performance metrics.

anyway to not have the pressure transducer be part of the kit and just have the front end for it?
that way people could source their own transducers to spec...
or just make it plug in to the factory map sensor for those vehicles. (i dont know if the map sensor does vac)
i do understand that the v1 market is probably bigger than the boost gauge market. perhaps both could be addin modules, otherwise you'll make me buy a v1 too
