What lube to use for pillow mounts on coilovers?
I've been using white lithium grease and it doesn't work. The constant banging is driving me nuts! What will flow enough when sprayed to get down around the ball, but last long enough so that I won't have to apply it every week?

Don't think so. I've only got one **** to turn on my Teins.
Supposed to have 16 settings, but for some reason they've got 28. And they're for a 1G. My car is a few hundred pounds heavier unfortunately. They don't make the HA for GVR4s anymore. So I've got the SS.
It still handles a hell of alot better than stock. Thanks for your comments.

I've got a day at NHIS this weekend, and major shaft play with my current turbo. One side is spinning into the housing at anything over 10psi. Sounds like a supercharger. I'm teaching myself to port tonight. Same 14b as stock, since I'm broke right now (imminent wedding ring purchase).
I guess I should update my signature sometime soon, eh?
Will: Ray just told me about your party. I didn't know you had one every year around this time. Wish I could swing down, but I'm heading north on Saturday to vroom vroom.

BMWCCA...autocrosses at Devens too.
A buddy was at NHIS last weekend with COM...in a white lefthand drive EVO 2. What's the story with that club? I'm a newb to track events, only having been to the Glen a few times and NHIS a few times.
I like the car...sometimes. As you probably know, they are rare and tough to find now in decent condition. It's 15 years old, so things wear out and/or break. Periodic maintenance is key to finding a good car.
It was owned by some lady in CA for 12 years (freaking white doghair everywhere still, but I'm working on that), went to Indiana for a few months with a Mitsu tech, went to Orlando, FL for a little over a year, and then I bought it last September. So there's no rust at all ;^) The FL kid modified it and then switched it back to mostly stock before I picked it up and drove it to Boston. But I'm still fixing things that he did to it.
The knowledge base for GVR4s and DSMs is awesome. Our local DSM club is great, as is the nationwide GVR4 forum. However most of these people like going straight and fast. I'm modding it to turn well and stop well first...speed later.
I like the car for what it is...a heavy AWD turbo. The shape has grown on me. My gf hates the car with a passion and hasn't ridden in it for about 6 months now...about the time the coilovers went in. His name is Frank, and he's a stubborn bastard. 103K miles.
It's got a bunch of JDM parts, and too many little mods to list here. I've been working on porting another stock turbo this week, and fixing some stuff that FL-kid botched, in time for NHIS this Saturday.
I'll probably drive it daily for another year or two, and then retire it to weekend duty.

Nice. Sounds like fun.
Funny you mention Devens. I was autocrossing there with Renegade Miata this year, as I'm driving a Mazdaspeed Protege now.
COM is a great club to run with, though a little pricy and a little ****. Their format does work well, though.
They typically take 2 days and have *student* events on the first day (open to the seasoned guys too), then a time trial session the 2nd day. You can do one or both events.
It's about $30 to join for the year, $150 for a student day event and then like another $100 for time trials on the following day.
They actually hire corner workers, so you're not sitting on a corner for 2 hours, etc. They Force you into student sessions until they sign you off for a *license*. It's very worthwhile as you'll have an instructor telling you what you did right, wrong, etc.
I'm gonna do a few events next season. Let me know if you join next year. I go with a couple of guys and its a lot of fun.
