what would happen if the the PCV valve pre-turbo was replaced with a filter?

Are you talking about a oil catch can with filter?

Default Well, I was just looking at this pic of a new A4 with T28 kit..

another thing i noticed is that the bov is placed in a weird postion...and that i think its venting?

Default That is not the PES T-28 kit....

I've seen that pic from somewhere else...forgot though.

Default really? well the pics from www.vwturbo.com or ATP....and its supposed to be a GT28RS

Does anyone notice the filter at the back of the engine?

Default If that is a filter on that tube

it looks like they took the secondary air pump out and just put a filter on the valve tube instead. I did the same thing back when I had the PES T28 kit on my car.

Now if that is the crank case breather they will find oil sprayed all over the engine sooner or later since you need a can to catch the oil vapor before the pressure goes out the filter.

Default youd be suprised how little oil accumulation there is on a motor that is running good

i used to empty a full tank of blowby every other month before the rebuild, now it barely has a drop of oil in it after 2 months

Default Would you rather have a few drops of oil in a can

or dripping out of a filter? EVen the vapor or fumes are going to carry some trace of oil with it up to the filter.

brent just has his blowing out the back of the motor &amp; theres barely any residue even after 6 mo
