What's the '02 A4 1.8T Oxygen Sensor voltage? Most cars it's 1.0V but someone said '02's are 5.0.

'02's and newer are not your ordinary O2 sensors.....
Terminology will always be my enemy, so I can't name them properly, but I do know how they work(...somewhat). If you monitor it on vag-com, you'll see a value bouncing around zero. Basically, the ECU is always trying to see zero, and will feed the sensor accordingly to do so. The ECU then reads the amperage required, and bases any fueling adjustments on that.
This is also MUCH easier to explain with hands on, face to face instruction. It won't work with an air/fuel gauge, and is not a 5v wideband O2 that could be used for hi performance tuning.
AFAIK

It's probably more accurate for emissions....
It seems like if manufacturers could gain 1 or 2 hp from something, they wouldn't bother, but if they can gain 0.0000001% better emissions, they're all over it

Bingo. It's extremely accurate......
Try pulling off the brake booster vacuum source on a B5 1.8T (creating a vacuum leak), and then do the same thing on a B6 1.8T or 3.0L. It'll kill the B5, but the B6 will adapt & overcome. Just one of the things I saw/learned on, when they were coming out. ALso watched them via 5051 while doing that, to see how fast they adapted.
