Default At 14:1 you need to run at least

108 octane.

Either Sunoco Supreme leaded(110) or VP C12 leaded(108)

You won't find a stock unleaded racing fuel high enough to run 14:1. You'd have to run leaded, and if you have cat's forget that.

I run VP C12, it's easy to get and it's cheaper than Sunoco. It's also more consistant. I can also buy smaller quantities.

The cost is $5.05/gal

At 11.5:1 you'd want around 104, and you may find some unleaded that high somewhere.

Default 14:1

presents a whole boat load of problems.

Like finding a headgasket that won't disintegrate every few miles.

Fuel, obviously.

Starting, and turning the motor over takes a heap o' work.

Rods gotta be the strongest. Bearings too.

It's nice to wish for things somethimes, like having a motor with bunches of horsepower. But, you gotta think of the entire package.
