Default Audiworld rumors, mostly.

I haven't heard from one person that ran Superblue and had MC failure. It's just one of those things where the person was using superblue, probably going to the track a lot and experienced MC failure because he was overworking his brakes, cooking his hydraulic system, blah blah blah.

But I'm just a ricer troll, what do I know.

Default I have read posts from folks who experienced a clutch 'squeal' using the ATE .. non

track.
A search of the B5 forum using "ATE Blue" and dates of 01-01-2002 to present will turn up a few representative examples.

Default Super blue has 1 or 2 silicone simulants in it, I forget the specifics, but....

Basically, super blue will expand & harden any & all rubber it comes in contact with, on an audi. Usually, the first symptoms will be ABS failure, but can start brake fluid leaks at the calipers, and rupture the rubber lines as well.

I've seen 5-6 S4 owners that had to spend around $8000 to replace lines, calipers, ABS pump & master cylinder because of this. (For that kind of $, I'd just use something that doesn't have these rumors floating around about it!)

Oddly enough, though, it works fine in other german cars, that use components from the same manufacturers.

One other funny (depending on your view...) story, we did the same repair for a brake system on an A6 once. The customer(female, blonde) had heard a power steering groan, called her husband, who had some ps fluid in the trunk. She promptly filled the brake fluid reservoir with it & drove home. Oops.

Default I use motul, but I think you'll be fine with almost any syn. fluid with your brakes.

unless your sessions last longer than 20 minutes

Default I've had no problems with motul or synthetic or even standard dot 3 stuff

pedal seems a little firmer with the motul than with the regular stuff

Default not a rumor...

I ran super blue for about 3 months and one track event. Shortly after my clutch began to stick about 2" off the floor. Flushed it out w/ some cheapy stuff until I got some Motul in and all squeaking/grabbing/sticking is gone. Superblue is teh suck for A4s!
