Default whats up with my FPR?

I'm using a custom fuel rail on another project car and employing the same 4 bar FPR for the 1.8t. I have a high pressure fuel pump and for some reason my fuel pressure gauge is showing 90psi! even at idle. this is my 2nd FPR too. is it possible my FPR cant regulate my HIGH fuel pressure? i thought I should ask first before I switch to alternative FPRs
thanks
Ed

Default cool! where does the 2nd tube hook up too? Is it possible that your gauge is reading 90 but the

FPR sees 58? Maybe hook up an inline gauge after the pump to verify. Is that plumbing where the gauge is at just open piping or do you have some sort of valving in it?

Default the lower/inner pipe is from the pump, then passes the gauge then the FPR

it flows from the side of the FPR casing and out the bottom - is that the right way to use this FPR? all the piping are atleast 3/8" and only the FPR is the obstruction after the gauge. i pressure tested it a while ago and saw that the FPR can only hold about 55psi of air pressure so I thought that it works. I then installed it and ran fuel. I have lots of low pressure fuel flow coming out of the FPR so looks like it cant keep up with what is actually being delivered. I'm using the 255 lph walbro unit btw too much probably?
thanks

Default Ahh ok. it wasn't clear the 1st time I looked at it. Yes, it's connected right. But the FPR ports

are probably too small to dump all that fuel. I assume if you remove the FPR valve you get 0 pressure - meaning there is no restriction on the plumbing before the gauge as you mentioned.

Looks like you need to either run a parallel FPR or just get a larger firewall mounted unit. I think your pump puts out almost twice the S4 pump
