Default When selecting rods is it more desireable to have lighter rods, or heavier rods, both are forged

The difference between the two is about 125 grams.

but only if they are just as strong.

truth...NEVER go weaker....I like the braided Carbon Fiber rods myself

Default If you're looking at the Eurospec rods....

I'd go with the 600 gram rods vs the 475g, as you really don't know how they were lightened. Plus the 600g rods use 3/8" bolts vs. the 5/16" bolts on the 475g rods.

If you can afford it, go with Carrillo rods. Pauter rods also have a good rep with the VW crowd.

And yes, 144mm rods are the ones to get, unless you have an ABA block like I do

I think they even have CF pushrods for GM Vee engines...
