Default Only bad thing about building your own K04 setup

is getting the K04 chip which will end up costing you more when trying to buy it alone.

Default hrmmmmm....

Ko4 kit....1700 + shipping

http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shared/part_detail.cfm?PMaI=1&PMoI=1&PEI=2&PP =a4_18t_drivetrain.cfm&PPT=Drivetrain&IL=A WEK04

-------

Ko4...800

chip ..500 + a "possible" small charge for upgrade to Ko4 software

http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shared/part_detail.cfm?PMaI=1&PMoI=1&PEI=2&PP =a4_18t_chips.cfm&PPT=Chips&IL=GIACChips

a few gaskets & bolts @ the local dealership..50$ or so (estimated)

even with shipping the home made kit should come out cheaper...but you dont have the warranty or backing of the company that sold the kit if anything bad were to happen

Default The price of a K03 chip is $500 not a K04 chip.

BTW the small charge is for updates not upgrades. Why do you think the shops sell a K04 kit and only give small discounts when you buy a K04 kit and have a GIAC K03 chip.

Default Actually you can have a K04 and Garrett software both for $950

I've got a k04 and a Garrett k04 chip for sale.
The turbo's got about 4K miles on it. I upgraded to an APR Stage III and no longer need the the K04 or the software.

Let me konw if anyone is interested.
