Where's the big benefit of coilovers?

Is it just the adjustable ride height or is the handling dramatically increased, say over an OEM/Aftermarket sport suspension?

Ride height and being able to corner weight the car.

If coil overs are not set up correctly they can actually cause the car to drive even worse then before.

like he says lower center of gravity is better for cornering

to a certain extent. there is such a thing as too low. if he is asking about the benefits of C/Os

he probably doesnt know that and should

Not at all. Depends on the coilover. The PSS9 and several others will...

offer significantly worse response when lowering more than 1.5" past stock height due to running the dampers outside their optimum range. I recently saw this on my bros car that got pretty squirrely on him at the track. He raised it up .5" as recommended by Steve at Bilstien and now the car is like it is on rails. cheers! Mike
