Default Will an APR chipped ECU out of a 2000 1.8TMQ fit a similiar car regardless of the model ECU that it

Will an APR chipped ECU out of a 2000 1.8TMQ fit a similiar car regardless of the model ECU that it is? I guess what I am asking is if I swap my non-chipped ECU for a chipped one and the ECU that I get back is not the same number model that I had, will it matter? As long as the chip works in the ECU that it is in?

Thanks for the help, always appreciate it.

Default No, the ecu you need must be for a 2000.

The 2000 ecu is different then the non dbw and 2001+ ecu's.

There are a few different ecu's for the 2000 though and you can even use a BG ecu from a passat.

But any ecu from a 2000 will work in my 2000, it doesn't have to be the same number?

Default As long as it was stock in a 2000 A4 it can be fwd/quattro/tip/manual

you will just have to put the soft code that was in your stock ecu into the new one.
