Default Will just installing eibach springs kill my stock shocks?

I have been itching to lower my car, however decent aftermarket shocks for a 100csq are just too darn expensive ($2500cdn. for eibachs and koni shocks)...so i have just been wondering, how big a risk it would be to just throw in eibach springs without changing shocks...the eibach website says the pro-kit only lowers by 1.3" front and 1" in the back, would my stock shocks make the car hop badly over bumps and eventually die because of the added stain of the stiffer springs?...

Default Yes, killed my stock '01 Sport shox in less than 8 months.

I put the Audi Eurosport (Eibach Pro-kit) on the car right after I bought. Worked great for about 4 months, then started getting sloppy. By the end of the 8th month, it was like driving a giant Caddy or Lincoln... no control at all.

What ruins the shock is that it is compressed all the time. Finally, the gas in there just gives up. I'm sure some more technical people can explain it better.

If you can afford it, do the shox and springs at the same time. Remember, you will have to pay for two instals and two alignments if you only do the springs now and the shocks later.

Hope that helps.

Default I've got a set of factory spring / struts out of my 95.5 S6 for cheap...

Those prices sound crazy !!

I've got the original S6 setup ( 25mm lower and 30% firmer rate) that I took out at 23K.

100 bucks plus shipping - I'd love to just get it out of my garage and to a good home !

Default also...

$600 for koni and 280 for springs is $880U.s

so multiply that by 1.5X to convert, thats $1320cdn for just the main parts...

after labour, 15% tax and small installation parts that will still be over $2000

Default I'd rather do "Sport" Bilsteins at $400 a set.

Koni's are just tooooooo expensive. Especially the non adjustables! I could see paying a bit extra for the adjustability.
