X-post. Has anybody had their car just suddenly shut with APR
chip intstalled? I called APR and they said that they're having some solder joint problems and are using a better method of chipping. I got a chip with ECU about 14 months ago. Just curious if anybody else had this happen to them. It's not any fun having a car just die on you and then sometimes restart and other times not start at all.

I had it happen. Since you got it 14 mos ago, you still have the old method..
of soldering the chip to the board. Just call APR and explain, they will pay for the shipping and re-do the chip. The new method used has the chip on encryption board that is attached to the ECU board.
