Any others worth mentioning? Anyone happen to have one they would like to sell before I make a purchase?

If you have a PC (laptop is ideal), VAG-COM is the best deal.
Other than the VW VAG tool I dont even know if there is anything else...
I use an older P155 w95 laptop for my garage - VAG-COM, Bentley CDROM for Audi, DSM CDROM for the Eclipse. Still have to use paper books for the Kubota and F250.

I have not made a purchase yet, but the folks at Autotap (autotap.com) tell me their tools will work on my A4. Connects through the OBD port and can record and chart all OBD parameters. Autotap seems to be very popular among the late-model domestic hot-rodders. The expensive model apparaently can work on just about any OBD-equipped vehicle.
