Default XPost from A6 Forum....2.7t Suspension u/g report (long)

For those that don't remember, I upgraded the stock (non-sport) suspension on my 2001 2.7t about 6 weeks ago. I had my shop (Curry's Automotive - shameless plug!) install:

1) Eibach Pro Kit springs
2) Koni Sport shocks
3) 18x8.5 AEZ Radons w/Dunlop SP9000s 235/40-18

All four shocks were adjusted to 3/4 turn out from full soft, and the rear shocks were set on the middle spring perch. The install is a tough one and should not be attempted at home!! A 4 wheel alignment is MANDATORY after the job!

Initially I was concerned that the ride was too stiff. Now after 3000 miles on the setup, I am happy to report that the shocks and springs have broken in, as hoped, and the ride is now quite good. Stiffer than stock, but not uncomfortable. Handling is MUCH improved - this one change has turned the car into a true sports sedan (but it's still NOT a sports car!)

Ride height in front is 25.5", rear is 26", measured ground to fender lip over wheel center cap. I think the look is perfect. Opinions?
No rubbing with the 235s on 32mm offset rim.

Total cost of everything including labour approached $3750, but I'd say worth every penny.

My car now has 5000 miles on it, and will go in for first check Friday. Only one problem so far - twice the headlight warning indicator has come on: each time the right front headlamp was not functioning. Any ideas on this one to pass on to dealer? Any other tips on first service requests appreciated.

TIA.

Mike

Default Looks good...

...reminds me of the A6 in the recent commercials. I commented to my wife on seeing them that it was interesting that AoA was using what appears to be a lowered A6 in the commercials despite all the warranty **** we seem to get from too many dealers about this improvement.
